What's new with Xelabus?

504 - Route change - Thornhill

From 11th November 2024

Due to the constant congestion at the junction of Hinkler Road and Bitterne Road East, Xelabus and Richard Tauntons have agreed to re-route the 504 service in the morning and afternoon, to improve punctuality. From Monday 11th November 2024, the 504 will operate the following route:

AM - Warburton Road, LEFT into Hinkler Road, RIGHT into Bursledon Road (all bus stops along these roads will be served)

PM - Bursledon Road, RIGHT into Hinkler Road, RIGHT into Warburton Road (all bus stops along these roads will be served)

​

If you board the bus at the top of Hinkler Road, Bitterne Road East or Bath Road, you will need to go to a stop along any of the roads listed above.

​

This decision has been made in order to improve the punctuality of the service.

191 - Winchester Road Closure

6th November 2024 - 8th November 2024

Due to the closure of Winchester Road between Denhams Corner and Boorley Green, on the above dates, the 191 may be subject to slight delays of approximately 10 minutes while it follows a diversion around Hedge End to access Boorley Green pick up point. All bus stops will be served, despite the closure.

​506 - Winchester Road Closure

6th November 2024 - 8th November 2024

Due to the closure of Winchester Road between Denhams Corner and Boorley Green, on the above dates, we are providing two buses on the 506, one that will serve Upham and Durley and the second that will serve Boorley Green. This is to ensure students are not delayed arriving to school.

All bus stops will be served at usual times.

X11 & X12 - end of an era

25th October 2024

Following many years of operation, Southampton City Council have re-tendered the X11 and X12 services into a new format. 

​

As a result of the tender process, BlueStar shall be launching new services to cover parts of the X11 and X12. Our last day of operation of the services shall be Thursday 24th October for the X12 and Friday 25th October for the X11. 

​

Customers looking for more information regarding the new services should contact BlueStar directly.

Richard Tauntons 504 - Bevois Valley

Until 27th October 2024

Due to the closure of Bevois Valley, the 504 is diverting via Empress Road in both directions until the above date.

Sparsholt West Wellow - Firsdown diversion

From 21st October 2024 until 1st November 2024

Due to the closure of Firs Road in Firsdown between the above dates, the West Wellow service to Sparsholt College will be diverting via the A30 and Pitton Road.

​

Passengers who usually board in Firs Road need to wait either on the A30 or at the Pitton Road Crossroads.

501 & 504 - Butts Road Closure

Tuesday 10th September 2024

From the above date, due to the closure of Butts Road, the following services will be diverted;

501 to Hamble School, 504 to Richard Tauntons will divert via Station Road and Kathleen Road. The nearest bus stop to the closure will be just inside South East Road.

195 - A27 Cams Hill roadworks

Tuesday 3rd September 2024

Owing to the current roadworks along the A27 near to Cams Hill, we are providing a relief bus to ensure students using the 195 are not affected by the delays.

​

As a result, the 195 service will start at Fareham Train Station, while the relief bus will operate the following schedule. (On most mornings, this will be operated by a plain white XelaCoach midi-coach).

0845 Down End Road bus stop

0847 Seagull bus stop on A27

0850 Red Lion/ Precinct bus stop

This is expected to last up until October half term.

X11 - Dunvegan Drive closure

Tuesday 20th August 2024

Due to roadworks on Dunvegan Drive, the X11 cannot serve the road. The service is diverting via Lords Hill Way to then serve Sandpiper Road and Woburn Road.​

X12 - Foundry Lane Closure

Thursday 11th July 2024

As a result of urgent road works at Foundry Lane, Shirley the Tuesday and Thursday Service X12 will not be able to serve Foundry Lane, English Road and Waterworks Road. This is a 9 day closure from 11th July 2024.

PR3 - NEW Summer Seaside Tipner P&R to Southsea

From Saturday 29th June and every Saturday and Sunday plus Bank Holiday Monday until Sunday 1st September 2024 our NEW PR3 service will operate every 30 minutes from 0935 until last bus at 1935 from Clarence Pier.

The PR3 is your fast bus to Clarence Pier, D Day Museum and the sea front. There will be an increased 15 minute frequency on special event days.

X11 - Raymond Road closure

Monday 24th June 2024

We are sorry we cannot serve the full length of St James Road and Raymond Road, owing to the closure following essential road works. The nearest bus stops will be along St James Road between Janson Road and Shirley Ave.

​

However as the diversion is via Janson Road, Shirley Road and Howard Road, to Hill Lane you can also board the X11 in Howard Road at the X12 bus stop.

​

This diversion is expected to be in place until early August​

​

​X11 - Dale Road closure

Monday 24th June 2024

As a result of gas repairs Dale Valley Road will be closed from Tuesday 25th June for 5 days.

 

All service X11 buses will divert via Dale Road and Winchester Road to Hill Lane.

 

Bus stops in Dale Valley Road, Lordswood Road and Upper Hill Lane will not be observed.

 

We apologise for these X11 diversions which are beyond our control.

Wyvern 502 diversion

Due to the closure of Sedgewick Road on Wednesday 31st January 2024, the Wyvern 502 service will divert via Church Road in both directions.

​

​Any passengers waiting on Hamilton Road or Sedgewick Road will need to wait on Stoke Park Road or Underwood Road. The bus will stop at the end of Spring Lane on Riverside.
